1,000 Vehicles on Offer at the Schaumburg Convention Center

Walworth, Wis. – Sept. 28, 2021 – Mecum Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction company, returns to its roots in the Chicagoland area with Mecum Chicago 2022 to take place this Oct. 13-15 at the Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois. The auction will
feature an estimated 1,000 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, trucks, exotics, Hot Rods, customs and more to cross the auction block.

Among the featured auction offerings are a pair of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6s. The first is a special-order car (Lot S119) equipped with the LS6 454/450 HP engine and an M40 TH400 automatic transmission; it’s dressed in Tuxedo Black, comes with two original build
sheets and boasts a comprehensive restoration completed in 2013. The other is a Cranberry Red-over-black example (Lot S129) that boasts a matching-numbers engine, a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, Winters aluminum intake manifold and Holley carburetor.
Representing the Mopar scene is a Plum Crazy factory 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible (Lot S109) restored as a Hemi Challenger R/T convertible replica, and it’s equipped with a 426 Hemi V-8 engine, 4-speed manual transmission and power steering and brakes. For
Corvette lovers, the auction will feature a multiple-time Top Flight-winning 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (Lot S100) with an original L78 engine and 4-speed transmission, and from the more luxurious realms of classic car history is a 1971 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible (Lot S127) that was previously owned by Helen Brach, “The Candy Lady” of Brach's candy company fame. The unique car shows just 16,000 miles on the odometer and is finished in a specialty shade of bold magenta paint with a contrasting off-white convertible top and off-white leather interior with coordinating magenta piping.

For the mini Mecum fans and the toy collectors alike, The Steve and Marilyn Ralfs Pedal Car Collection will offer 19 pedal cars and a selection of scooters, trikes and wagons at no reserve, including an original 1930s Streak-O-Lite Chicago American Wagon (Lot Z344)
featuring 1933 Chicago World’s Fair train graphics. Most of the collectibles in the group have been professionally restored by the couple, who have been in the restoration business for more than 30 years.
