History
Meet Chicago Northwest was incorporated in 1983 as the Greater Woodfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. Our office is located at 1933 N. Meacham Rd. in Schaumburg, Illinois. Meet Chicago Northwest is a non-profit, 501c6, destination marketing organization whose mission is to promote our service area of eight communities (Arlington Heights, Elk Grove Village, Itasca, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, Streamwood, Wood Dale) for meetings, convention, sporting events, group tours, and leisure visits. MCNW concentrates on direct sales and marketing programs designed to promote this area in order to increase overnight hotel stays thereby enhancing the local economy through visitor spending.
Meet Chicago Northwest is one of 40 Illinois certified convention bureaus and the first in the state to have achieved the prestigious DMAP Accreditation through Destinations International. As an Illinois certified bureau, we are partially funded by the Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity/Office of Tourism through its Local Convention & Tourism Bureau Grant Program. This state grant is matched by a small percentage of the hotel room tax collected annually by each community we serve.
Meet Chicago Northwest employs these grant funds to produce marketing programs designed to attract visitors to experience the wealth of hotels, restaurants, shopping venues, and attractions in our vibrant area.
