SCHAUMBURG, IL (SEPTEMBER 10-13, 2009)STITCHES Midwest, the largest knitting show in the Midwestern United States is expected to draw thousands of knitters from across the country to the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois (September 10-13, 2009). This 4-day event will bring thousands of knitting experts, novices, and spectators together with designers, authors, educators, and suppliers from across the country and around the world.

STITCHES Knitting Expos are considered “the place to be” by all in the-know knitters.  With over 5000 attendees, STITCHES Midwest 2008 broke all mid-western records, making it the third largest knitting show in the nation (surpassed only by STITCHES West 2009 in Santa Clara, CA with over 9000 attendees and STITCHES East in Baltimore, MD with over 5000 attendees).

This massive, four-day event includes:
• STITCHES Market featuring 150+ booths full of the latest knitting supplies, book signings, demonstrations, style shows and free Learn-to-knit clinics. One-hour workshops (priced separately) are available to enhance basic knitting skills.

• More than 150 different, intensive classes for knitters of all levels, covering almost every knitting topic and taught by expert knitters and designers. Classes range in duration from three to six hours.

• A professional runway fashion show highlighting the latest trends in knitwear design hosted by Knitter’s Magazine editor Rick Mondragon and co-host Fontelle Jones.

• An attendee banquet with a fashion show featuring knits by attendees themselves.

Knitters of all ages experience sensory overload in the STITCHES Market.  Mountains of beautiful yarn, books, patterns, buttons, supplies, and gadgets of all kinds give eager shoppers exactly what they are searching for. Colors and textures to suit every style are found on the market floor. Exhibitors travel from as far away as Australia to introduce their products to the frenzy of knitters.

Expo activities are priced a la carte, but several packages are offered. Market entrance is $8 per day, with multi-day passes available at http://www.KnittingUniverse.com/MWMarket/. Market workshops are $30 per hour when booked in advance and $35 at the door if space is available.  Intensive classes are $80 and up and include entrance to The Market.
