DESTINATION MARKETING ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION

Accredited Destination Marketing Organization 2007-2011
The past year was marked by many changes and opportunities for the Woodfield Chicago Northwest Convention Bureau , including a corporate identity makeover, the addition of professional sales staff members, and most significantly, the achievement of international accreditation from the Destination Marketing Association International , the world's largest association of convention and visitor bureaus.

The WCNCB is the first convention bureau in Illinois to attain this honor and, to date, one of only 40 convention bureaus worldwide to achieve this goal.

DMAI Accreditation recognizes the WCNCB for providing outstanding service in accordance with international standards. This honor assures our stakeholders and customers that our business operations, marketing programs, and group service programs are conducted with distinction and exceptional attention to detail.

In earning the DMAP accreditation, we were required to demonstrate compliance in 54 mandatory and 33 voluntary standards in 16 core competencies including governance, finance, management, human resources, technology, visitor services, group services, sales, communications, membership, brand management, destination development, research/market intelligence, innovation, and stakeholder relationships.

Although compiling the necessary documentation took only several months, the groundwork for DMAP Accreditation has continued throughout the WCNCB's nearly 25-year history as an economic development engine for Chicago's northwest metro area.
